La Liga BTTS by Club: Which Teams Score and Concede Most?

A club-by-club look at La Liga both-teams-to-score rates, showing who pushes the number up, who drags it down, and whether attack or defence is responsible.

At a glance88.9%Real Madrid matches with a goal scored

Every La Liga BTTS price starts from the same base rate. Across 1,900 matches from 2021/22 to 2025/26, both teams scored in 51.8% of games. That is close to a coin toss, which is exactly why the spread between clubs matters. I wanted to know which sides drag that number up or down, and whether their attack or their defence is doing the dragging.

The headline answer: Almería sit top at 64.5% and Getafe bottom at 39.5%, and the clubs at either end differ most in how often they concede. The elite sides score almost every week, yet they land close to the league average because they rarely let one in. If you came here from today's BTTS tips, treat this as the background reading behind them.

Section AAlmería and Villarreal top La Liga BTTS while Getafe props it up

The table splits the 24 clubs into the eight most BTTS-friendly and the eight least. Almería lead at 64.5% across 76 matches, with Villarreal on 61.6% and Espanyol on 61.2% close behind. At the bottom, Getafe managed just 39.5% across 190 games, with Cádiz on 40.4% and Valladolid on 44.7%.

The fair odds columns turn those rates into break-even prices with no bookmaker margin. In a Getafe match, BTTS No breaks even at 1.65, so that is the price I would want a bookmaker to beat before taking any interest. For Villarreal, the BTTS Yes side breaks even at 1.62. These are records of what happened, not forecasts.

Check the 95% range column before getting excited. Almería's ±10.8 is wide because 76 matches is a small sample. The gap between eighth-highest Celta Vigo at 55.8% and Mallorca at 48.9%, the top of the low group, is smaller than most of those ranges. The extremes are worth noticing. The middle of the table is mostly noise.

Section BReal Madrid and Barcelona score most but concede least

This dumbbell sets each regular's share of matches with a goal scored against its share with a goal conceded. BTTS needs both, so the lower of the two dots usually caps the rate. Barcelona scored in 91.1% of matches and Real Madrid in 88.9%, the best attacking records here. Even so, their BTTS rates of 51.6% and 52.6% sit near the league line, because they conceded in only 56.8% and 58.4% of matches.

Further up the chart, the shape changes. Girona conceded in 80.3% of matches, the most among the regulars. Espanyol and Celta Vigo have dots that sit on top of each other: they score and concede about equally often, which is the profile that produces BTTS. At the other end, Alavés scored in only 64.5% of games, so a leaky defence could not lift them up the rankings.

For me this is the most useful chart on the page. It shows which half of a BTTS bet is the weak one. With the giants, it is the opponent scoring. With Alavés or Mallorca, it is the club itself scoring.

Section CBig three BTTS rates track the La Liga trend by season

The line chart reaches back beyond the study window to show BTTS by season. One line is the whole league, the other is matches involving Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid. The two move together more than I expected. League-wide BTTS was 56.1% in 2016/17 and 56.6% in 2025/26, while the big three's matches went from 57.0% to 55.3%.

The seasons in between are where the lines part. Big three matches bottomed out at 45.6% in 2018/19, well below the league that season. That fits the dumbbell picture of elite defences shutting games down.

Pooled seasonal averages cover changes of manager, squad and tactical era. I read this line as context for pricing, not as a trend to project forward.

Club verdict

What this file means before you bet.

  • Start Getafe games from No. Getafe's 39.5% across 190 matches makes BTTS No the natural starting point. Only a price comfortably above the 1.65 break-even deserves a second look.
  • Ask who fails to score. Real Madrid and Barcelona scored in 88.9% and 91.1% of matches, so the real BTTS question is whether the opponent can score. Price their defence, not their attack.
  • Treat Almería with caution. Almería's 64.5% comes from just 76 matches with a ±10.8 range, and club samples like this are small. Villarreal at 61.6% and Espanyol at 61.2%, both over bigger samples, are firmer guides.

Only about half the time: Real Madrid's BTTS rate was 52.6%. They scored in 88.9% of league matches but conceded in just 58.4%, which holds the figure down.
